Help! Custom exhaust question (mufflers)

Hi guys, first thx for helping a fellow g35 v36 owner.

I dont know if I'm making the right choice. Tomorrow I have an appointment for a custom exhaust.

What they said would be the best for my car, (and the guy said he knows about g35 sport's), he said the best would be to cut the resonators, because it is 2.,5 diameter before the resonator, and add 2.5" piping to universal magnaflow mufflers that he would put tips on them. And he's doing everything for 500$ cash (its a specialized store with a mandrel bender)

What i'm afraid of is ;

- Will it be loud enough for a nice sound, I dont want the stock sound obviously and i've looked at some youtube videos and they sound almost as stock with magnaflow mufflers...

- I'm not sure with a universal exhaust.. will I have the desired sound or again will it be as smooth as stock.

- Resonator delete ? Really? I've heard it sound raspy...

- The looks.. Did anyone see a g35 sport with a universal magnaflow? Sure im adding tips at the end but, i dont know I'm scared it'll look silly.

Here's the universal magnaflow im talking about : http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/universalmuffler.asp (the first ones, the oval)

And here's the stock exhaust design to help seeing what im talking about :

I dont know if I should buy some better mufflers and go with that instead of universal magnaflows with tips on them.

My first idea was to change the dual exit to a single exit 2.5" or 3" depending on the best flow, but the guy said I would loose alot of power if I do that.

Thx for your help guys, appreciated.

I paid 600 for a magnaflow 3" custom system, but you should really get a magnaflow straight through resonator along with that muffler.

Exhaust company's like Magnflow, Motordyne and others spend hundreds of hours achieving the right sound and results from their systems. You're better off saving your $$ and buying a tested system where you get whp and a great sound....Gary
