whats up guys ive got an 08 g35x sedan had my ark cbe on for about 6 months and recently purchased and installed the rtp's from gtm. from the minute i took it off the lift and left my shop i have had a extremely obnoxious rattling sound. this is not rasp i know what rasp sounds like this sounds as if something is loose inside the tubing. when i put the car back up on my lift the sound was all converging directly under the x-pipe. i regretably changed my ark x pipe to a generic x pipe assuming something was loose inside which did not solve the problem at all and im back to square 1. it happens the most when im under load over 3500 rpms and when im off the throttle and the rpms are coming down. my next step is taking the rtp's off and putting my stock cats back on to see if it is in the cbe or the test pipes. has anyone had a similar issue? im losing years off my life stressing over this and driving around a car that sounds like nails on a chalk board to me. any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

i have the ark catback too and mine rattled loudly, i found out it was the crossbar that the exhaust was resting on...other people say they havent had a problem with the crossbar because the ark is supposed to be jacked up during the install. i tried that and it didnt help so i took off the crossbar.
just thinking the install of the rtps lowered the exhaust onto the bar or something..

 

If your talking about the crossbar connecting the two cats or test pipes ive already taken it off. In fact it ripped the tab off my test pipe and i had to re weld it back on.

 

No I'm talking about what might seem like a pointless bar right under the X pipe. Just connects to the frame of the car.. Held on by 4 bolts
