I TOFTT and bought this sight unseen from japanparts, and it fits totally plug n play. It's great, and totally worth getting.

I got frustrated that these aren't made aftermarket (ala the gen1 coupe mirrors / cf covers that a vendor sells,) so just gave it a shot. The stock mirror pops right off, and the new one pops right on. There's a metal clip (I can't figure out the purpose of it,) that didn't come with the new mirror - I pulled it off / put it on the new one.

No pics, as it's hard to capture the difference.

If anyone else wants to do this:

Japanparts.com, nissan part number 96366-JK00A. I didn't check if a US nissan dealer could order a JDM part. It was about 100 bucks, give or take, shipped.

what exactly did you do? put in a aftermarket mirror? i dont get what your saying

 

To my understanding, I think what they did was purchase the JDM Passenger Mirror, which would be the Driver Side Mirror for us. Pretty much replaced what usually is flat mirror glass on the drivers with the convex JDM passenger one (as the passenger side mirrors are usually convex).
