Bluetooth Audio Question (AV Control Unit Swap?)

Long time reader, first time poster. Quick question (not sure if it's a quick answer), I would like to have bluetooth audio and not use third party attachments or chords anymore. Can I swap my 2007 G35 AV Control Unit for a used AV Control Unit out of a 2010 or newer G that has bluetooth audio capability? Possible, expensive, stupid? FYI - I have bluetooth phone capability now through Bose and stock navigation. Any guidance would be much appreciated.

You can do it - a few of us on here have. You need the new monitor, new control unit, and the dash harness. It costs about 1k for the unit/monitor, 4-500 for the harness, and about a full day to do all the wiring changes. (unless you get really lucky and find a junkyard somewhat ignorant as to what they have.)

Bear in mind that you need a new faceplate - which won't match the rest of your trim unless you do a full 2010 console/ trim conversion (as I did,) which adds about another 750 - 1k to the cost.

If I haven't scared you off yet, pm me - I have pdfs showing the wiring changes.

Let ask y'all this I just bought my ipad mini and I'm going to install it in my 06 g35 coupe. Question is what is the small and best bluetooth receiver that will work with the stock wire harness and the steering wheel controls. I don't think I'll really need the audio receiver on the bluetooth because I going another direction to pay music off of the ipad just need something I can use to answer calls off of the ipad mini
