Hey all.

So the compact flash on this car... well it's whatever.

So after reading the forum here it seemed I only needed a 2GB flash card as that is the maximum songs (approximately) that the car will read.

So I picked up a Verbatim 2GB flash card and added my songs.

At first I put on like 50 songs, they played fine, great.

So then when I go to fill up the roughly 2GB card, when I get to about 1.1 GB's it tells me that this card is formatted in FAT and can only hold this amount. To store more, put it in NTFS.

So I reformatted it for that type, and then was able to put almost 1.8GB's of music on there.

Awesome right?

Put it in the car and "no audio files detected" or some ish like that.

Sooooooooo... can the card only be formatted in FAT?

Should I have bought a 3 or 4 GB and used the FAT so that I could get at least 2GB's on there?

Is there another way to format it, is my computer, or the user in this case, just being stupid?

Let me know, super confused over here.

Thanks.

If i'm not mistaken, you cannot have more than 512files/songs on the CF Card. Otherwise the system will not read it. Look in the manual, it spells out step by step how to format and setup the card.

What blasphemy is this?

Are you suggesting there is actually a handy booklet of reference material provided for free with my car which contains all pertinent instructions for the correct usage of its various systems . . . ?!!! geeeddowdahheeeuh
