So I just tried the Scosche adapter again with my iPhone 5 and it worked (charges and plays music). I must not have plugged it in all the way or something last time. While I was at it I tested the new iSimple revolt adapter I had bought on Amazon for $5 awhile back and it works also.

I tried the iSimple Revolt Mini in my 2008 G35 with the factory cable and the Apple lightning adapter and the my iPhone 5 will charge but the car shows 'iPod' not connected. Without the iSimple adapter (Infiniti 30-pin to Apple lightning adapter) the car can play music from my iPhone fine but of course does not charge. I guess my next option is to try the Scosche.
