Coolant leak from engine block?

Just left the stealership and they said it appears I have a coolant leak and wanted $115 to test find where the leak is. I told them I replaced the upper radiator hose and it may residual residue from that. Anyone have any insight experience with there g leaking coolant from the engine block? Thanks.

Goto AdvanceAuto and rent the coolant pressure test and do that test yourself. It takes literally 10 minutes. Wash off that area with coolant and see if it leaks again. Check by the hoses, thermostat, and under the car opposite the oil filter there's a weep hole there.

I haven't had any coolant loss when I check, but I will check out renting a pressure tester. Thanks

My car had a problem that the radiator resevoir will be drained but the radiator level was ok, it was because of a lose hose clamp and my Nissan fixed it for free during an oil change.

Not from the block but have seen a bunch of V36 models leaking coolant by the headgaskets. You will have to get underneath the car and look with a flashlight at the bottom edge of the head right where it seals to the block and look for green residue. It will not leak under a pressure test either so the dealer will say no problem found as well in most cases.

Thanks infinitidude. I don't have any coolant loss out of the reservoir or radiator so any leak at this time is negligible. If it is leaking from the head gasket, I assume the leak will eventually get worse. I will continue monitoring it and look underneath when I get a chance. Wondering if it's worth repairing, and how much does it cost to repair?
