Car Won't Shut off unless lights are "OFF"
Hey guys, first time on this forum. I bought a 2007 Infiniti G35X with 37K miles on it a couple of weeks ago.
I bought it privately, and something I discovered after the purchase was that the car will not shut off unless the lights are in the OFF position. When left in Auto or On, the car will continue to run. The climate control will shut off and interior lights will breifely dim, but then it comes right back. I don't have a local Infiniti or Nissan dealership and the closest one is 5 hours away. I taked to a service manager at one dealership and he said he had never heard of that before.
This isn't a major issue, just a slight annoyance and I would like to fix it if I can. Still loving my new Infiniti G35X and it will make a great winter car.

There was not when I bought the car no. I have since put one on, but the issue was there before it was installed and remains after. I chatted with the guys who installed it on my car and they had never heard of that before either.
I asked the guy who I bought it from and he said it was like that for him too and must have been a "Safety feature". Hah. Yeah ok.
The car came up clean on a carfax, but definitely has a sketchy history. It was originally leased in Lousiana or something, then sold at auction in 2009 to the guy here in Canada who bought it. There has definitely been a replacement windshield and some repainting on the passenger side. Previous owner claims the reason for the repaint was rock chips but I don't really believe that.
