I've been reading (and reading, and reading) but wanted to canvas the latest opinion on remote starters. I'm looking to get one installed in my 2008 G35X (Auto), so far I have a quote from a reputable shop for a Python installed for $329, the dealer quoted $799 (and stressed warranty, official, yadda yadda).

I'm in the Boston area, to the North by the NH line, not too fussed about starting from the OEM key as I want 200' + of range but the idea of starting from my phone does interest me. Do any of you have experience with the Python or other remote start units that you'd recommend?

In other threads I've read about having to restart the car when you get in and I would prefer to avoid that.

I installed a remote start unit myself last year on my 09 coupe. I would think they should similar and it wasn't difficult at all. Cost under $100.
