Removing Rotors

Trying to get all of my rotors replaced this weekend. For people who did it, how did you guys get the 2 bolts holding the rear calliper bracket off? Last time I tried I couldn't torque them off because my torque wrench was way to long and cannot fit in the wheel well. This is more of a concern for the rear because I think for the front I can just turn the wheel and use my torque wrench. So if you have any tools you would suggest or tricks, it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I've done a lot of brake jobs and come across a lot of stuck bolts. My method is this.

Closed end of a crescent wrench over the bolt you want to remove. Then i take a larger, heavier wrench and give the end of the wrench on the bolt a series of short, quick, but hard hits. It mimic's the action of a impact gun, which is more effective than just using pure torque.

Basically 5-10 good hits usually breaks the bolt loose. I don't even own an impact gun because this method works VERY well to break bolts loose

I used a floor jack to push the wrench upwards to get the bolt loose. **** works man with little effort. jus a few pumps and the bolt should be loose enough for u to use the wrench the rest of the way

This is timely, I'm replacing my rear rotors this weekend. Based on my experience doing the brakes I can expect a stuck bolt or two, or three...

It sounds like a good idea, but you could severely over stress the head of the wrench this way. N

*SNAP*

Sound of your wrench breaking. Get the right tool.

You could also push the wrench hard enough causing it to snap and fly through the air splintering your skull

How bad do you want it

I got the calliper off now. Just had to buy a big hammer. What is the extra hole in the rotor for? like it has like a little rubber covering on it. Is it something I need to remove?
