Help!

Hi everyone im New to this page and I would like the help from all of you guys, So i have an 07 G35 and yesterday i was driving normally until the temperature just rocketed up to the H and the the check engine light turned on and started to idle bad like it was misfiring, so i parked for like 10 mins turned it on again turn the heater on full blast so the thermostat could open and let water cool the engine well it worked and it idle rough for like 2 mins and now its fine it runs smooth again the temp is where it should be but the engine light is on and the guys at auto zone told me its a p0300 does the overheating have something to do with that because the light didn't turn on until it overheated. Oh i forgot I live in Tucson,AZ and right now we are at 113 degree temp right now could that have something to do with the overheatness??? any help is much appreciated for those that know abut theses cars I'm a first time buyer of the infiniti.

The code p0300 means theres some random misfire. Im not totally right maybe someone can correct me. But my main concern is your car overheated.! That means you have more problems than just the engine lights on and the code. First you have to identify why your car overheated (cracked hoses, coolant leak, cracked radiator etc etc) and you did not specify what you did to your car after it overheated. Second for me it sounds like you manage to drive the car to auto zone to pull up the code/s. Did the needle raise up or you keep driving your car while the heater is on full blast? please give more info...

Any time whatever you're driving heats up like this it's wise to have it towed to your mechanic or dealership! Normally you'll have radiator fluid everywhere that can be from a blown radiator or hose. It could also be from a failed water pump and you may not see any fluid, but not always. Main point is, with your temp gauge maxed out you don't want to drive your car...shut it off and call for the hook!

when i drove the car when it cooled down the needle stayed at normal operating temperature like it should and all of the sudden the check engine light turned off and it drove like it was normal. we check it out me and my uncle and it seems that the thermostat got stuck and so when i put the heater on blast for a while (like 30 mins) it opened up instantly, My uncle says that the heat has alot to do as well and being that its 112 degrees everyday here and i drive from phx to Tucson everyday it puts alot of stress on the cooling systems even if it a newer car. but we gave it a tune up change out the spark plugs now m going to change my oil today replaced the air fliters now it running really better but thanks guys really appreciate your help!

The heat doesn't have a lot to do with it if you service it properly. Run coolant saver in it and then do a proper fluid flush.

Yep, you need to flush the coolant.

When your engine overheat usually it create bubbles in the lines. When the bubbles warm up the thermostat will think that the engine is still hot that's the reason why the needle still goes up. Proper coolant flush and check for any leaks and hoses connections.! (Ps I drove from LA -> Vegas -> Utah -> Arizona and back last year in the summer. The temp was 120*f and my car was fine)
