Wheel size questions

I have been eyeing this set of wheels, running the 18x8's up front and 18x8.5's in the rear on Michelin Pilot Super Sports. My only discouragement is that these wheels are 1 piece tilt cast with flow forming, not forged. It is to my understanding that forged wheels are superior to cast wheels, and that the stock 17" wheels are forged. My goals for this car is mostly street use and canyon carving and maybe 3-4 races a season at my local track. My question is which would perform better, the linked wheels on Pilot Super Sports, or the OEM (forged?) wheels on Pilot Sports (super sports not available for OEM size according to Michelin's website).

Enkei is a solid brand and very reputable in the racing world, just check out all the Zs with RPF1s.
My question is, why not go wider? Even on a sedan you have room

I'm not the biggest fan of the RPF1's looks, but if they are significantly better, I would get those instead. Which sizes would you recommend, and do you think they are a much better wheel?
