i just recently bought a 2007 infiniti g35 sport sedan with 140k miles on it about a month ago. Just recenlty i started hearing this wierd knocking sound when in idle and in gear ( drive/reverse) noise goes away when i take my foot off the break and car starts moving or when i put it in neutral or park. I can really only hear it inside the cabin . I just replaced the ac compressor due to the clutch going bad (not sure if related?)
