Torque spec for front suspension

I've read the FSM, but after stripping a the threads out of nut, I'm wondering if there's a typo. The bolt in question is the lower front shock mount/sway bar end link. The FSM says 120 ft-lbs, but the threads were gone before I hit that. Any ideas?

Thanks.

So are you trying to tighten the bottom half of the end link or the bottom half of the shock?

Impact gun tight is a bit vague. Mine supposedly goes to ~150 ft-lbs.

victor0206- I'm trying to tighten the big 19mm nut in the middle:

As it is now, the threads pulled out of the OE nut and I'm waiting on a new endlink from O'Reilly.

I literally just finished replaced one of my front shocks (next one done next weekend).

And that black bracket you have arrows to I could not for the life of me get more than 3 bolts back in it!

So the 3 on the right are in, the far left one is slightly offset, making putting the nut back in impossible.

I've raised and lowed the suspension with a jack with no luck to repositioning the hole.

any ideas?

I'm guessing either the nut was defective or I minutely boogered the threads on the bolt enough to cause damage, but it looked OK. Either way, a new Moog end link was the solution. The drivers side was totally fine with the OE link.

As far as getting everything lined up is concerned, I found keeping everything slightly loose helped dramatically (including the three nuts on the upper mount). The black bracket on my car moved a few mm when loose, and went in without much issue. I also dropped the sway bar bushing mounts, which really freed up the main lower bolt. Good luck!
