I recently bought a 2007 g35x after looking around for a long time, only for it to get totalled 3 months later...
I was sitting at a red light and a kid in his mom's SUV plowed right into me and destroyed my car
It has been deemed a total loss by my insurance, and I'm waiting to hear back from them regarding how much they're going to compensate me, but I was wondering if any of you guys think this would be worthwhile to fix?
None of my airbags went off and I didn't have any lights on the dash. The damage I can see so far is my rear bumper, right tail lights, trunk lid, trunk compartment, and anything else you can see in the pictures.
Do you guys think it's worthwhile for me to fix and drive around until I get a new car, or should I just buy it back and part it out?
In the current state, I wouldn't do anything but just have them take it depending on the amount they want to pay. If you think that by buying it back and selling for parts you can make a good buck, then go for it.
My experience with salvage cars: they never drive the same after they are "fixed" (usually never done well)
Unless you have a lot of extra time on your hands and access to full body shop tools (and know how to use them) then take the money and buy another one.
