Dead gauge cluster

I recently changed out my radio receiver and face plate because my radio/ac wasn't working and got my radio working again but ac still down, but now my gauge cluster has stop functioning. I switched back to my old face plate because I don't know for sure if the new one is for Bose system, but same thing no ac or gauge. Gas, speed, heat meter all at 0 and all the indicator lights are on. I'm gonna test out all the fuses tomorrow and try my old receiver again, but other than that is there any other possible reasoning or solution for this?

Sounds like you didn't unplug the battery before you started this work and blew a fuse.

No i was sure to disconnect the battery before taking anything off and putting back on, but is there a time frame on how long you're suppose to wait after disconnecting the battery before working on anything electrical?

Maybe you didn't wire things correctly the first time and blew something since switching back to the old faceplate didn't do anything

I thin they really stress that waiting period after disconnecting the battery when working on airbags

There are 3 fuses to check in the Fuse Block J/B, all 3 are 10amp fuses, position 19, 14, 6. You start counting at the top left slot.

i replaced all 3 but gauge is still the same. Also when i turn off the car it doesn't turn off but goes to ACC so i have to turn it on again and then hold down the button for it to completely shut off.

Sounds like something was moved inside the dash, I would take it apart again and pay particular attention to any wiring ESPECIALLY the CAN system stuff.

Could have forced the wires and harnesses or pinched something when putting the faceplate back in. If you don't get the wires tucked away neatly it's not gonna fit perfect

yes im sure its not the dimmer switch I tried that first as the easiest thing next to a guse. I took the cluster out and looked it over and it worked when put back in but even though it works the problem isn't resolved for me cause i want to know why it happened
