Unhappy Bought new fob for 08 G35 Sedan but car wont acknowledge key.

Hey,

I just bought a 08 G35 that did not have any key fobs. I had it towed to my house. I had a lock smith come out to program the key fob but he said it failed. So now i have a car and a fob but i cant get the car to even acknowledge the key. The battery is good. Or atleast all the lights in the car and headlights come on.
The lock smith did say that he ran a 08 altima code on it, I wonder if thats why it didnt work. I dont know what to do next. Either way any help would be much appreciated. Any guidance?

Did he try other models (staying with Nissan, maybe a Maxima) ? Sounds like he didn't.... Dumb question: Why didn't he try an Infiniti code ?

OK so i had another lock smith come out thinking that the first guy didnt know what he was doing. No luck. He did mention that the lights on the key fob slot did not light up. He said its like the car was not trying to read the ikey. Does anyone know what i should do now?

I suspect something is wrong with the transmitter on the fob, where did you get this fob from? Was it new or used? Were either of the locksmiths able to interface with the BCM at all?

Are these guys charging you since they can't get it to work ? They may still get a "trip charge", I'm sure. I mean, I see "new" OEM keyfobs on Amazon for $45 but do need programmed by a dealer and I've no idea what they charge.

i bought the fob new from the locksmith. and then the second lock smith tried another fob. I was not charged the second time bc i called the company and asked that they send another out after realizing he used an altima code. But they were not able to connect to the car at all. They had no communication from what i gather.

Sounds like they just don't have the software to.interface with the BCM.
