2008 G35 XS totaled ?

Got into a collision not too long ago, no airbags were deployed . Insurance is only trying to say this damage is only worth $2,550(Headlight,Hood,Fender,Bumper & Grill) , what do you think ?

Driver Side for comparison

The passenger/impact side

Under hood

That looks like a pretty good hit, hood and fenders look misaligned, If you can even find a genuine Infiniti Headlight assembly, I think that alone is at least $1000.00 these cars had very expensive parts when new, and now it's only worse. I tried to buy some new interior trim pieces for my 07, and they are out of stock forever! IMO, you'll have to at least DOUBLE the amount they offered to fix your 08...

Had a somewhat similar accident last year (with a bit less impact from what it seems.) Insurance initially quoted me about $3000. But it ended up being in $5000 range before they just gave up and paid me out for the car lol.

I was able to fix my 08 G35 for about $1000 for a driver side fender, driver side fender liner, bumper, grill and drive side headlight. I found a decent amount of my parts second hand, which saved me big especially on the headlights. I didn't end up painting just cuz of the significant added expense of that.

The Insurance's quote they provided you is definitely super low given my experience. Once I got my car to a body shop and had them work with the insurance. The cost of the work ended up going up once they started to dismantle the car and seeing exactly what needed to be done. If you haven't already done that I would recommend getting it to a body shop.

Thanks for the input guys, i have some appointments lined up for better estimates since they only told me to send a few pictures and sent a check at lightning speed lol. Since they didnt even include the radiator support i didnt cash it yet and will wait until i send them a few true estimates from reputable body shops. Definitely not going to Gerber collision, i remember having a 2 bullet holes in a 2014 chevy cruze & they took like a month to tell me it was totaled. It was one in the passenger door & one on top of the roof near the windshield.

Do you have a picture of your car when it was damaged , and about how much were you able to buy it back for ?

So insurance ended up returning the car to me with a fully intact title and about $9K. I didn't have to pay them anything for it. Was a bit of a weird situation but I wasn't complaining. So not entirely sure how your situation would work.

My accident was isolated to just the front driver side.

Appreciate that, wow yeah looks like you didnt have to replace the grill or the hood. Did your fender push back over the door any , mine was mainly a front impact thats probably why mines did. What shop did you go to to get it fixed & i take it your radiator support wasn't cracked like i see mine is either huh

Yeah my impact was not nearly as gnarly as your's looks. Fender didn't push back over the door and my radiator support was intact. That being said though, it definitely shows that you are entitled to much more money than $2500.

I took it to Peabody Auto Collision in MA.

Yep i even took it to one of their in-network shops , and he didnt even look under the hood but did say he could imagine the radiator support would have to be replaced which would atleast be another $1k

That looks like more than $2.5k in real world money, especially once you add paint and blend time. On a 2008 they’re probably playing the numbers to stay under a total, but a hood, headlight, fender, bumper cover, grille, brackets and any hidden stuff behind it can stack quick if it’s done at a legit shop, not Maaco. I’d get a written estimate from a good body shop of your choosing, compare it to what the adjuster is using, and push back if they’re way off or ignoring diminished value. I’m in South Carolina and had a front end hit where the first offer was a joke, and the injury lawyer I was using, The Solomon Law Group out of Columbia, helped me push the carrier to match real shop numbers instead of their fantasy estimate, so having someone in your corner who speaks that language makes a difference.
