Memory card slot..

I saw a pic somewhere that looked like there is also a slot for a memory card at the bottom right corner of the center console.

Wish I could remember where I saw that pic...

ah here it is:

I'm willing to settle for that in most car environments, however if you've got high end gear that can reproduce every nuance in your music you will definately hear a difference. Using 320 in the car might be a bit much, but it all remains to be seen with the new sound system and interior acoustics.

It's probably one of a few drives good enough to deal with temperature extremes and being bounced around I guess. I can't see it being price related.

The thing is the LS uses the HD for Navigation too, so I dont know how much space is left?

My music collection is somewhere between 10 and 11 gig.

But I bet I could eliminate 2 gig worth in copying to the car. I would just be happy if my 2004 supported MP3 on CDs. 6 CDs set to random play would be adequate.

Given that Infiniti still uses pen and pencil in the drawing room, we should praise them for the effort.

Not sure if they're out yet, but I've seen 32 and 64GB flash drives.
Here's 32GB - http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/periphera...ler-161923.php

How will you be able to control music that is stored on the drive? Will you be able to see song titles, etc on the display (perhaps the Nav?)?

Agreed - it's a car not a bedroom. Yes it's nice to have the toys - which it does, but adding HD space and DVD Video, you might as well carry a laptop around.

^^^ +2

9.5Gig is more than enough space in a car for your music. If they came out with a 20gig drive, people would complain that it is not 40gig.

I am just happy/satisfied that it is an option in the first place.

I totally agree, you can fit a ton of music in 9Gigs. Way to go Infiniti! AND I bet it will also display artist and song info on the integrated screen, which is probably going to double as a NAV screen and Radio screen. I don't see any other display, so I bet non-NAV G35's will still have the screen for Stereo info and HVAC too. Thoughts?

That would be my guess/hope as well.

IIRC, I don't think you can rip mp3 to the space though.
If that's the case 9Gig will get used in a hurry.

JM, but I'd still like to see an iPod interface.
