New generation Gs

Although I am excited about the new G coupe and sedan, it also sucks. I will not be able to afford a new one. I love the current G's how they are as well, but its going to make them look outdated probably, and our cars probably wont seem quite as good to us since there is a newer and better thing now. Hopefully this wont happen.

Also is anyone going to wait to get an 08 instead of an 07 so that they work out all the little kinks and stuff (usually little improvements need to be made on the second year of a model...i think).

That's always a tough call....
If you want the latest & greatest and to be the first one on your block...
then YES get the '07

While I don't think first year issues are as problematic these days....
I have never owned a first year car and I am likely to continue that trend...

I bought a first-year G20 way back in 1991. The only things that didn't make it the full 144K miles that I owned it was the plastic teeth on the power antenna extender, plastic gear for remote trunk release, and power resistor for the heater fan. All low cost items. I also replaced the starter, which seems to be a standard maintenance wear item on all Nissans.

Well, IMO, this evo of the G35, isn't like a totally new car, it's a new generation, but not like the original G was at all. The basic platform is still the FM.

I would defintately wait. In late '00 I got a 5sp '01 AE Maxima and was happy with the car until the '02 came out where they increased power from 227 to 255, 3.0 - 3.5, 5sp - 6sp, added navi, memory seating, no body kit available though. Now I have '04 G, don't get me wrong I love the car, but I wish I had the '05 or '06 (espcially the extra 38 hp). Usually the mid life refreshening given to most cars brings about a better look, features and sometimes power.

Inifniti has already said that they will have iPod integration in '08, so I'll be waiting for the '08 or '09. Besides I probably won't be able to afford it until then. Hopefully my new business will go well so I can get a fully loaded G again.
