I was all for some "intevention" on this topic originally but when I found out that the avatars could be disabled by individual users it sort of lost it's point. If you don't like them or worry about them, then turn them off. It's not that hard and much easier than giving the mods something else to police.

The fact remains that this is a car forum not a **** forum. Some members have what the forum deems inappropriate avatars and we have been PM'ing those members asking them to change their avatar. I don't see what the big deal is.

I for one don't really like seeing the T&A or some of that other crap all the time. It used to be like a teenage boys wet dream, guys porno site or swingers portal versus a car enthusiasts site.

I also don't think I should have to turn off the avatars since I want to see most of them.

turning off the avatar in your own profile isn't hard at all. if you're worried because of work, wouldn't it be best to turn off all avatars/sigs? hell, it would be ideal that you not browse the web while at work.

i've gotten 4 pm's about my avatars, sigs, and location!

 

I think is a thread that can be argued forever... Have any of those people complaining just asked hose people whos avatar you find offensive to change them. Some people just need things to be brought to their attention. I know when RBull asked me politely, instead of crying to the Mods, I changed mine. Cant we all just get along here?

 

See, that's the adult way to handle it and while it would be the best way, I think it is unfortunately too optimistic.

Why should I have to alter my profile and turn the avitars off when such a small amount of users compared to the others choose to push the limits here.

This is an automotive forum last time I checked.

There are other forums on the the net for that including sub forums here which you know ahead of time what to expect.

Who died and let some of the others becoming boss in posting in this thread telling others when and where not to be logging into g35driver so they can promote their own cause.

^Well you should have to alter your profile since your the one who seems to have a problem with it. It would have taken you less time to turn them off that to write that post. Your only repeating what has already been said. Second this is much more than an automotive forum if you've bothered to check. Its more of a community we talk about everything last time i checked. OR who died and gave you the power to tell me what i can talk about?
