Avoided complaing but the site doesn't even load sometimes

and other times, a page will be ULTRA slow to post a thread/reply/refresh etc...

What gives?

ShanesG 03-28-2008 05:27 PM

i just deal with it....im kinda immune to it now

Calvin 03-28-2008 05:32 PM

If I knew the answer, then I'd tell yah. :o

trey's wife 03-28-2008 06:03 PM

It seems to be more likely to happen with Mozilla than IE but that isn't really a rule. :(

Philly_G35 03-28-2008 07:12 PM

I've tried with both IE and Mozilla (with adblocker off as well) and it doesn't seem to matter. There are just times when it is slow. Hopefully the find the problem, sometimes it takes over a minute to load a page.

CrazyRuskie 03-28-2008 07:13 PM

Yeah I've noticed its periodically super slow. My350Z runs much more smoothly.

30% of the time the forum doesnt even load, 40% of the time its slow as shyt, the other 30% it works fine.

Since IB owns the site, they should have their own staff here to address these issues. On maxima.org, they have at least 2 that we can talk so. I've seen s/n = Admin here. Usually signals the fact that someone from IB brands has logged in as Admin.

This issue should also be asked in your mod forum. That might clear up some things.

Jeff92se 04-08-2008 03:56 PM

Has anyone even bothered to ask? It was just slow right now. Something that happens 4-5 times a day while I'm on

Lemodular 04-08-2008 04:07 PM

It's been very slow for me as well.

naughty240 04-08-2008 04:43 PM

Lol sometimes while its loading I go over to my350z and look for the crash thread. These last 2 days have been terrible. But it is what it is. Gives more time to hit up g35nyc.com in between

officerdbag 04-08-2008 06:37 PM

I always thought something was wrong with my internet.... I guess its this site.

RBull 04-08-2008 08:49 PM

^yes, the site goes through numerous slow periods during the day or night.

G35Ian 04-08-2008 09:46 PM

I hate it...everytime it happens I wanna punch my laptop...Goddamn severs

BrocksG 04-09-2008 10:44 AM

yip, and I thought the new host or w/e was going to fix this problem?! Suxxxxxxxxx

OCG35 04-10-2008 05:58 PM

down all morning for me - I have conceded to the fact that the problems will never be fixed.

We just have to accept that Driver is now nothing more than sub-par and apparently never will be.

Mediocrity is becoming a trend in every facet of life… so I guess we just need to realize this site is joining the ranks.

Site is loading at warp factor 9 right now. Coolness

Currently Active Users: 2831 (630 members and 2201 guests)

i think it's these fvcking bots that are slowing the site down so much.

it's a fvcking new record for most users online and the majority aren't even members. they're probably all just spam bots and we need them to GTFO.

Yep... last I checked there were nearly 1700 guests on that thread alone

richie 04-17-2008 03:07 PM

I wonder what sponsors are thinking....pay money for ad/banner space and the site not even running at 100%

G35 burnz 04-17-2008 11:52 PM

Past couple days i've had the same problem as most of the people posting in this thread. Try uninstalling the microsoft security fixes from early April & see if that helps at all.

this has been going on waaaayyyyyy before April... and it's not user end problem... and I would never suggest to someone to uninstall a security fix to address a server/site problem

its fast today... YAY

Lolly Baggins 04-18-2008 06:10 PM

I want to purchase premier membership but the constant slowing down and random shut offs are swaying me away.

If I just get some sort of notification or someone says they are working on it or will be moving to another server that doesnt go offline every other day, I will take the Sponser/Admins word for it and purchase the membership now. :)

Lolly Baggins 04-21-2008 04:53 PM

lol f*ck it, I gave in LOL....

G35 FTW!!

officerdbag 04-23-2008 07:34 AM

has this been cured yet?

If you guys want to keep all the guests out then restrict everything so they have to register if they want to view pics, threads or whatever.

Beebo 04-23-2008 08:50 AM

^^^ +1 they do that on a few other forums im on... idk though

It's frustrating for all of us (even the staff), but spreading negativity isn't going to get it fixed any faster.

naughty240 05-14-2008 01:39 PM

This wasnt slow loading this was straight up gone. I went on my350 to expect a new 50 page thread.lol

nothing is going to get it fixed any faster... that has been made very clear.

I wouldn't be so miffed if it wasnt for the "renewal notice" I recently received. What a joke!

Unfortunately, it's not in our hands, it's up to IB to fix the issues. Like Christian stated, it's frustrating for ALL of us, not just you. Like you, I wish the issues would of been fixed some time ago, but I also have the patience to ride it out until they are. For me, this forum has provided me with a great deal of information, entertainment and friendship to complain about some performance issues over the last few months.......but that's just me.

I wasn't asking anyone in here to fix anything... I don't have any reason to believe "it's in your hands"... I'm voicing an opinion... and very valid opinion... like it or not - it is what it is... and I absolutely won’t be renewing.

If anyone is offended by me stating my frustration/opinion, sorry - but if it's out of your control I see no reason for offense... nothing I have stated blames staff... I could understand being offended if it is your fault.

I have been tolerant of issues - but I'm going to voice the frustration... especially when I got an email requiring money!

You guys can spin control all you want – and hide behind the patience motto… but the issues are completely ludicrous.

Just stating my opinion.

Again - if renewal notices were held back until the obvious problems are fixed, I would not be nearly as perturbed.

Lolly Baggins 05-14-2008 04:24 PM

I say just extend everyone's subscriptions until we're on a new server.

I knew what I was getting into when I purchased this subscription (Although I thought the sub would give me access to both My350Z/G35Driver, my what a mistake I made.

I don't regret it through. I love the G community and even if this site is not as active/used as My350Z, I still feel like I contributed something to the community.

I just don't understand why the administrator of this website just does not switch over to a new server. I've been in the web development crowd for a while, had my share of websites/portfolios and the second any server gave me any problems I would immediately fix and or change my server. Clientele do not appreciate slow/servers what not, hell I am sure we all don't. I just don't understand why they don't switch over. Are they in some sort of contract with the web host?

OCG35 05-14-2008 04:42 PM

^^^ Precisely! Who charges for shoddy service/product then charges you again to keep using it?... makes absolutely no sense.

Lucky-G 05-14-2008 06:02 PM

VBulletin is usually a pretty good host server. I'm on quite a few forums powered by VB, and they all run MUCH more smoothly. Funny that I was just thinking of how I'd like to go premier but I refuse to pay for a website that runs at a crawl. Once again, not aiming my iritation at any of the staff here, more @ the VBulletin staff, even though I'm not 100% sure it's even their fault.

:bowrofl:

Dude, VBulletin is not a host. VB is just the script they use to run the forums. :icon17:

I don't blame you but my inner-geek made me ROFL. :bowrofl:
