It's 5:12PM and the site is still acting up.

When you add a post to a thread you get booted off and this comes up:
Error 503 Service Unavailable

Service Unavailable
Guru Meditation:

XID: 202247073

Then when you try to get on the site you get the Database Error like we did before.

Hey guys,

Yeah, the new server they added yesterday, clearly has not solved the problem. I'm going into a meeting in a half hour where we're going to discuss next steps, which may involve taking the site offline tonight to do some heavy duty maintenance.

I'll try to keep you all posted as to the developments.

cheers,
robb

I was gonna post earlier but it takes so gawd damn long to post today I was too frustrated! And yes Ash, pages are f-ing sllllllooooooooooooowwwwwww loading!!!!

Initially I though it was because I'm tethered from smart phone to netbook... but I'm on two other sites that are as fast as works t-1 and homes fiber optic... so it's not my connectivity - its the same friggin issue with this site... WoW, what a shocker - considering all the "it's fine now" posts

Please give it several days of functioning correctly before posting "things are fine" - that only gives false sense of fix and we have to keep dealing with this crap. There hasnt been a series of three days (or even two that I can remember) without issues - in over a week.

Oh man it's been brutal today. It took me ~10+ attempts to make posts earlier. Constant error messages saying the database is unavailable, or 503 time outs, etc.

I hadnt seen Rob's post prior to the one above... FWIW it took 2 full minuted and one "error" pag to post the one above me (who knows how long this one will take)... I have to copy the text before hitting submit reply - because half the time the error page doenst let my backbutton to the text to resend...

So frustrating... hopefully the next "fix" will be a real one - and no one will have premature "its fixed" twitches.

What's causing it? Did some mod/admin on here or another IB site trigger the wrath of Anon or /b/?

So far so good.... for now (and that's key - working for a few minutes/hours isn't always a sign that all is well). Let's hope it stays this way going forward.

this may have been the cause...

Flush method is now default (fdatasync) instead of O_DIRECT
