"Artisan" Program

Hey guys, long time since I last posted here. Been really busy and I guess winter doesn't really help Recently, I've discovered a program on another forum. Basically, they call it an "Artisan" account and it is another form of vendor account. It's meant for people who make their own products and do not re-sell goods (IE: cannot sell Greddy). A lot of the times, people cannot afford to purchase a vendor account due to a low volume of sales. To deal with this, the costs for the account are much lower ($80/year vs $100/month for vendor on the forum that does this).

I think a program like this on Driver would be awesome. I haven't thought about it too hard but I can't really see any disadvantages. Some advantages I have thought of:

-creates revenue from people who cannot afford to sign-up for a vendor account
-allows members of the community to release new, creative products
-creates a path from "Artisan" to Vendor, potentially increasing likelihood of having new vendors sign up

Obviously there would have to be certain restrictions so that vendors cannot switch to an Artisan account. I believe the forum that does this also has a limit on how many different products you can sell (might be 1 but I'm not too sure).

Overall, I think it would be a good program to implement here, or at least look into. What do you guys think?

Maybe I've been gone so long but I can't seem to find the edit button

Here's a link to a post detailing their Artisan program. It is also a max of 1 product they can sell.

I think it's a great idea, that way smaller companies would be able to sell parts here. Benefiting everyone.

If there were something like that, along that general pricing bracket, I'd be on it faster than socalwdup on a park bench!

Great idea...never going to happen. Many memebers (including myself) have been fighting IB for YEARS on this issue.

Don't waste your time.

+1 one, I was going to be selling lenses for the white turn signal mod (headlights) for like $10 shipped.

They wanted like $300 a month out of me, do you really think I am going to make enough money selling $10 lenses to afford that? Not a chance.

Nobody offered what I was selling and I wasn't selling it for a retarded mark up. The vendor situation on here is retarded.
