See what I did there? I used one of those icons on the right. I'm so clever.

My cleverness aside, I'm taking a little initiative in posting some info so that we might all adjust a little more quickly. Hope it helps. Also, feel free to post any questions you might have.

1) The hot topic- Are we charging? Nope. Yep. Both. All of this is tentative at best, so don't hold me to it-- If you'd like to use the site as you always have; posting, PMs, searches, basic rides, etc. you're more than welcome to do so free-of-charge. If you'd like to get a little boost to the experience; uploadable avatars, larger upload tolerances, classifieds (this is primarily to abate rampant fraud), raffles for parts, etc. then you will need to become a Premium Member. As I said- tentative. This will be constantly updating and changing until implementation. A lot of work goes into this site, so it's only correct that someone shouldn't be paying for the privelage to own it. Si?

2) New features. Some basic new features you'll notice are the icons to the right, and those at the bottom. Those at the right are inserted into your post, those at the bottom will be a little rep for your post at the top of it. Pretty simple. I will probably catch myself writing [smile] for a couple weeks, but I'll get over it, as should you.

Articles. Holy crap-- we'll have new information! Who knew? Updates, reviews, and information will be available on the front page.

Automatically-parsed links. Just type the link- no more stuff. www.site.com works just as well as http://www.site.com

Updated attachments. This feature will be managed actively, but you can now attach different file types- bmp doc gif jpe jpeg jpg pdf png psd txt & zip. As I said, they will be actively managed. If problems exist, they will be fixed.

Font changes. Look at the top when you edit, etc. You can mess around witht he fonts. Sweet. Note that the default font size is 2, so choose accordingly. 1234567

3) Stickies. If any necessary stickies come to mind, alert us. When we imported the information (I say We, I mean Kyle), the stickies were reset. This is both a blessing and a curse. No longer are we beleaguered by long-out-of-date posts that we've just gotten used to seeing, but also no longer do we have that instantly-identifiable information. PM any Admin or Mod if you think of one, and we'll move it if necessary.

I can't really think of anything that would not be logically deduced, but then again I'm seeing a slightly different side of the site than most other members, so I may be overlooking something. Please feel free to bring up any issues/questions you have. We'll most likely post a feedback forum to deal with major issues.

Well the edit feature seems to work... There are still a few "bugs" that need to be worked out. The first one I noticed was this message...

I too love the new layout and features! One question though and there is a good chance it has already been asked. I know it is possible since I am fairly proficient with vbulletin, php, mysql, etc, Could you possibly move the ads on the left hand margin to the right hand margin? That way the threads would line up fine when reading and we wouldn't have to scroll right to read posts!

 

I cannot post a new thread in any forum area I've tried to - G35 Coupe, NorthEast regional, or Private Classifieds / Cars. It previews fine but will not post. What's going on? Thanks.
