The site still isn't 100%. They still need to activate several features. I'm sure most of their current efforts are helping out people with login issues. I think the avatars are only turned on for moderators/admins at the moment. Same with using IMAGE tags in signatures. Probably coming up with a policy on size and acceptable image content.

Its now [img] instead of [image], thats what it says for avatar and sig now Still doesnt work though, thats prob because my old sig pic was on older g35 forum, sucks!

In the past 24 hours, Kyle and I have fielded about 450 emails re: bad logins. Each one requires about a minute of personal attention, so you can see where the efforts have been concentrated

Sig pics were out of control in the last forum- if we can cap them, you'll most likely see them return *staring at iLL*. Image tags are currently disabled, as the images from the old site still need to be imported. Your rides and uploads still exist, don't worry, they just have yet to emerge.

Oops, back to work- I've got mail.

FWIW;

I hope you don't let avatars get out of control either.

I like a good avatar & will likely do one myself, but....
Please, limit animation.
Motion, makes threads a PITA to read.
No offense to afropuf but I hated that bobing head of his over on FA, was glad to see it go.

I agree Avatars (like sig pics) can get out of hand! on my site I limit Avatars in pixle size to 120x120 and in actual kb size as well.. This eliminates most of the big annoying animated avatars and sig pics that tend to really get out of control.

i honestly think crazy avatars...animated or not, sigs, etc....add some spice to boards. Many other boards have them without people complaining, what's the problem here?

haha... people have hated that thing on all the forums I'm on. I was all set to go with that avatar here, but the feature isn't turned on. It made it real easy to know which one was my last post, so I could quickly scroll down till I saw my head, and read the posts that appeared after it.

<sad excuse for a big sig>
i uploaded a sig image a few weeks ago and a problem i noticed was any image smaller than 500 pixels wide was getting stretched out to 500, so i ended up just making it 500 and decreased the quality to keep the size down to ~20k ..not sure it was stretched to 500 to keep a certain ratio or for another reason.
</excuse>

sig images or no, i'm just glad i can get my fix again now..

great job everyone!
