Are any moderators listening?

All the pics in the DIY section are just inaccessible... What a waste. Switching to new software wasn't worth the loss of all that valuable information. I feel sorry for NYCG35 and the others who put so much work into their DIY only to have it inaccessible now.

Well, someone should at least own up and reply to this thread regarding if the data is actually lost for good or the links are just screwed up and all will be fixed (eventually)???

 

It does kind of suck that this "Site Feedback & Questions" section has a lot of questions that go unanswered or are not even addressed by the mods/admins of the site

 

give it a few days......it is the holiday season and some mods may have been "away"

 

I understand that it may take a while to get things "fixed" I guess my only wish would be that the Admins or Mods would chime in and at least let the population know what is going on. (I have run a couple different forums over the years and know what kinds of problems arise... and how difficult it is sometimes to "fix" them!)

keeping everyone up to date is the key... The site looks great really and besides a few things, like the missing images, I can't see many issues... Hopefully they will get it all resolved. Until then if they could just let us know that they are at least looking into it now, and taking some kind of action, that would be great!

OK here is an update..

The pics that you cannot see are attatchments from the old forums..
I have them all still but havent had time to sit down and figure out how to import them to the VB format.

Main reason VB stores the attatchments in the Database while the old version stored the images on the server in a file system.

Oh and there are atleast a few thousand attachments (Images) And I truely do not want to import them manually..

So until I find an easy way to do it that wont take up too much time the satus will probably be the same (Testing a variety of ways to get the data in)..

 

since the name of the file is there, what if we just had a URL we could paste?

Going back and relinking pics in the db would be a nightmare... but if we knew where they were... and had the name to paste (plus the known URL), we'd get by with that.

 

Any update on this? I'm getting my G tomorrow and the DIY stuff would be great to have.

 

What specific FAQs do you need help with?

This site takes up a TON of time already, and adding the manual integration of the old pics would just end up making it that much more of a pain. If you have a specific request, though, I can do my personal best to help you. Shoot me a PM-- that really is the best way to get ahold of us.
