SPAM Attacks from forum?

I don't know if the spammers have found new weaponry or what, but I think that if you put your AIM screen name in your profile, it is being accessed by spammer bots. For the past two weeks I have been getting these stupid "Come see my pictures" Instant Messages. The only thing I have done different was to make public my screen name on this forum. Like I said, it could just be a coincidence with a new method of spamming coming out at exactly the same time.

Anyone else?

I've not had anything like that happen to me, nor have I heard of others having that problem.

Coincidence. I've been getting them forever, then they stopped, then they started again a couple weeks ago. Random and ANNOYING.

My suggestion is to just let everyone on your buddy list see you, and block others. If they know you, they can shoot you an email and you can add them to your list. This way you ensure a bit of privacy, and you get zero spam.
