Changes to the classified/marketplace sections. Thoughts?
Staff is in the talks with IB to encourage more members to join and participate in the community. We find that the marketplace rules are a bit strict although they are there to protect the community. A couple large communities have gone to a 15 post rule over a year ago and there has not been any increase in scams or incomplete sales. A real scammer might consider a Premium Membership the cost of doing business and bye pass the requirements all together on G35. If we were to see a spike, we could always revert back.
What do you guys think of this? Yay or nay? I'll open up a poll

I think the rules are fine the way they are. The members here are pretty quick to let everyone know about bad sellers. One of the big reasons I am still a premium member is because of the money I have saved buying and selling stuff on here. It's nice to know the stuff being sold is going to a fellow G35 enthusiast.

Bump.
Just to be clear, we are only going to minimize the post requirement. Everything else will stay. I need more than 7 votes or I'll have IB go forward on the revision.

I think the required post count should be reduced. It will allow people from other forums to come on here to sell stuff. i.e. my350z

Im impartial. I see the benifit, but as one who wanted to sell something, and I got flagged (2 years ago....) by posting all over the place I say 15 is good. Like you said if it spikes we can go back.

Voted against changing, as I still feel the marketplace should be more of a benefit of real participation in the board, not just a traffic-generator. The board gains no commission from sales, but does get a bad rap if it's used for scams or just poor quality sales.

I firmly believe we should keep the 100 posts limit to keep the crocked trash out of our Marketplace. Having been a member here since '05 I've seen quite a few members lose some heavy $$ to crooks....Gary

The new marketplace rule of 5 days and 15 posts to sell will be current as of today. As with all transactions, please use common sense. IB has not seen an increase of scams with the MP revision so all should be as smooth as it was before.
