Unhappy My how this place has changed

Of 47 new posts just now, only 8 are by actual members and not Vendors.

That shows which way this site has gone. It's nothing more than an advertisement.

Maybe so, but what is the rate of posting compared to say, 2006?

Well look at it like this. This forum is catered more heavily towards first gen G's, and the first one of those came out 11 years ago. A lot of people have just moved on to another car or a newer model G which isn't heavily featured here, or doesn't have the vendor support. Also, you have to take into consideration that Infiniti IS a luxury brand, however you may agree with that. Being a luxury brand it traditionally makes the cars themselves and the aftermarket support a little out of the budget for most people. Those kind of budget constraints can really cause a dilemma for some folks and might detract from their neediness to become a hobbyist when it comes to their G. This forum just won't have the draw of say a civic forum just because of that alone.

I guess it's not simple to see that all retailers ramp up marketing at this time of year. Also, taking a small sample size of posts when vendors do a mass post of products is a flawed way of trying to gauge board activity.

It's not just this time of year. I dont post much, but I browse the new posts page almost every day and have for the past couple years. Its always mostly vendors. I think a big part of that is people have quit posting because of the replies they get on this site. People are judgemental and rude here, more than any other forum I am part of. Theres not a lot of good tech help to be honest, so unless youre here to show off photos I think most people are just lurking or going elsewhere.

Plus no one goes to shops anymore to get parts, forums is where its at. So many vendors now dont even have shops because everything is online now.

agree.. I used to get decent educated responses like 5 years back, but since it's mostly high school and college students owning these cars now.. well, you get the idea..

This ^

I haven't even been on here a whole year and I see a difference in quality of posts. Can't even imagine how good it was 5, 6, or 7 years ago.

to be fair any good tech questions have already been answered, and there aren't really any new parts coming out to test. other than aesthetic stuff.
