More Categories than Posts
WAY WAY too many categories..... people will start posting in the main forums and let the mods move it or just repost in all the categories....
Sounds like unnecessary work to me.

Personally I think you can make a catagory for every little thing and people are still going to post where ever they damn well want. I read the suggestion about changing the organization a day or two ago and frankly we already had all of those catagories the perosn mentioned - guess what NO ONE USED MOST OF THEM. I am not against change but i think a BIG change would be to eliminate the "drop down" menu under the forums button. Just make the button take you to the forums index. It's one more step for some people but I think a WHOLE LOT of people aren't even aware there are other sections out there. Just my .02 cents

I know I remember..
I'm changing it around a bit because I'm about to do an upgrade to the boards that allows for easier moderation etc..
BTW I dont like too many boards eather , I'm just trying to test a variety of ways to make it the simplist..

There should be catergory specific for coupe and sedan
Such as Sedan Mod Coupe Mod
Sometimes is very confusing whether those mod mentioned are adapatable by the both!!!
ie. suspension and wheels : Coupe and sedan has different offset
Hope this helps

I don't know about all these different categories. I've noticed that it doesn't matter how specific you make it- a lot of people simply choose their favorite board and only post there because it's where they spend most of their time. Add all the categories you'd like, those people are never going to post in the correct areas.
Thats why it takes good moderators to move posts and instruct members to do so. An automotive forum is a wealth of information for owners and should be split up in a way that allows you to find what you are looking for.
The moderators are doing just that, and have been doing just that. There will always be those who could care less and have no concept of forum etiquette. Our moderators and admins do an excellent job. More categories will cause more of the same problem.
I think that there are way too many categories too. it's takes too long to go through them all. Yes it's great if you want to find something specific, but for the most part I think that a few general ones would be more usefull and would get the most looks. I mean how many users are going to go through a couple a dozen different forums every day. The general categories that you have are fine. If yoy could have the general area do a listing off all the topics in the sub forums that would be great. That way I could just look up Performance instead of having to go into 5 different pages.
I personally think this is overkill. Why not just mirror the categories over at my350z.com? Aren't they a larger site with more users and more posts?
If I have an issue about my brakes, which forum do I post in?
- Problems, Questions & Answers
- Maintenance & Care
- ACC: Wheels, Tires
- PERF: Brakes
You can easily make an arguement for posting it in each one of those sections. "Maintenance & Care" makes me think of the normal service intervals in the back of the owners manual. Not about detailing.
I'm also not sure how tinting & debadging would fit under there also. The Body and Exterior forum description is "Bodykits & Exterior- anything to do with styling." When I think about tinting and debadging, it's all about exterior styling.
If my brakes are stock, then technically it's not a "Performance Modification" so as a casual reader, not a hard core poster/modifyer, I wouldn't even bother looking in there.
I know you have the descriptions under the forum headings, but no one RTFM.
