I wonder if I'll be able to dodge a bullet and not get any advertising in this post?
What about a Dodge? Maybe this only happens to non-premier members, Let's see, Infiniti, Nissan, Parts, Tires....Guess not, LOL! It shouldn't, we pay for the forums..................

Yeah, but you could just add:

127.0.0.1 g35driver.us.intellitxt.com

to your hosts file and it does the same thing.

Mouse-over messages

There are highlighted words in some messages that give advertisements for other cars if you do the mouse-over. I find this intrusive and obnoxious. I responded to the "what is this" in one and got a message from "Vibrant Media." I sent them a message and said I didn't like the messages and would avoid doing mouse-overs. If I wanted to hear about Mitsubishi Galants I would go to their site myself, I don't need an ad in the middle of reading a post from some innocent poster. I trust the Moderators and Godzilla will read this.

I'll be annoyed and amused if this post gets mouse-over messages.

10-18-05 FOR THE RECORD: This post was the first in a thread I started yesterday and it was joined with the other thread that started above. The posts may not make as much sense, therefore.

So that's what they're called... mouse-overs... huh! I agree with you, they are annoying, however they appear to be sponsor-driven, so if the use of mouse-overs may help subsidize the costs of running this site and keeping it free for us, I will accept the slight irritation caused by the mouse-overs. Sorry about the run-on sentence...

But, premier members shouldn't have to deal with it!

Simply control your mouse and put a leash on it.

Unfortunately there are probably WAY fewer premium members than it costs to keep a site like this alive and reasonably well maintained. Just ignore the mouseovers. If it helps the admin recover some additional costs, I'm all for it. To me it's much more preferable than banner ads, really.

Part of the problem is that I thought the writers of the posts emphasized something by underlining it and changing the color, when it really was sneaky advertising. I have no idea of the best way to finance a site like this (or any site for that matter), but these are low on my list of things I like about G35driver.
