Good idea. Who knows what will turn up.
I was thinking that when the new sedan comes out,
I'll take a 6mt for a spin....
Should be close to what the coupe will be like as a minimum.

This quote from C&D caught my eye....
"The power feeds through a six-speed manual gearbox that’s the personification of precise engagement
— it makes BMW’s 3-series manual transmissions seem rubbery"

and
"telepathic steering, world-class gearbox,"

Do you think they've changed it?????

I really haven't been following the threads on the 07 sedan other than the (VQ35HR) info but taking a new sedan with the new motor for a test drive, to see what the difference is, might be a worthwhile experience.
If it has a new designed transmission, you would think they would have mentioned it by now?

pity the poor salesperson ....... better bring the gravol

Yes, that's certainly high praise. My guess is it has to be new and improved. I'm postive that would be an area they would step up as well as a better clutch. I've owned many mt's and this one rates about average for shifting and clutch action. The throws are nice and short but the effort is a bit high and the gates are slightly fussy if you're not precise. The clutch takeup is a bit abrupt with slightly more on/off feel than desired. There is room for better.

A bud left his '05 Mazda 3 here for about 10 days and I drove it back from the airport. Not the same kind of power and car of course but what a light smooth clutch and shifter. Anybody could drive that standard. Even a noob.

I would not doubt the manufacturers watch these type of boards and get some level of customer feedback here, as well as their own surveying. If they do we'll see improvements in all the key areas. We've already heard handling has made some leaps, the car is much quieter, the interior quality and ambience looks much better, the seat controls are moved and appear more comfy, the dipstick is moved, dual exhaust added etc. All things we read complaints on regularly. The styling most people love so it's been evolutionary rather than revolutionary and that's all good.

I'm very curious to see the new sedan in person and the actual coupe even in pictures. I think the Coupe will be a very sexy piece if it doesn't move much from the concept and I don't think it will. Are the chassis improvements enough and the drivetrain competitive? I guess we'll just have to keep waiting.

LOL, sorry about that. There is so much speculation on this car I hope it doesn't disappoint.

I really don't want to see one myself because I'll likely want it!

My last car MX6 was discontinued so it was easier to live with the current model for a while.

Sorry. I didn't search that far back. If I resurrect a post from 4 months back i'll have people like you making rude, unnessasary comments about how I dug up an old post. Either way I can't win. Maybe I felt like starting my own post. Is it really that big of a deal. There is no need to be rude about it and call me names. This is why I rearly post anything.

One other thing Switch, I just searched for 2008 color and 2008 color change and searched all 365 posts. None were started by you or talked about my topic. Also, I searched for 2008 color and user switch and found one from many months ago at the end of may 04 and it was titled what new color for 2005. Nothing to do with 2008 and no I didn't read the whole thing to see if it picked that up along the way. So say your sorry please.

Tmac - you mean that reallllly light blue? That is pretty.
I am going to order the next coupe ASAP in either IP or OB. Unless they come out with some new super nice color.

I've always loved the Carbon Black from BMW M3s.

Well, i can clearly see some people need help more than others, so here is the original, true concept color thread (regardless as to how old it is).
