I had both the 350Z and now the G35C. I totalled the Z and always liked the lines of the G35C better. I bought the Z before the coupe was out so when I had the opportunity I changed. It comes down to personal preference because driving wise, there isn't a whole lot of difference beyond a little weight dis-advantage and the nicer interior of the G. I liked the cloth seats and less sound deadening in the Z but like the dash/interior design better on the G.

Either way you'll have a nice fun car.

I also wanted the S2K but at 6'4", it wasn't a viable option. Have you thought about a used elise?

Hokie- that was my exact situation, buying the Z before the G came out. while I like the lines of the Z better, I need a backseat, and think I will like the refinement of the infinity more.

I'm just thrilled to hear they drive the same. I love the way the z handled.

a "fun" car would be the ZR... not the coupe. It is way too similar to the sedan.

OR you can wait for the 08 coupe!

i'd go with the 08 coupe, but if it's going to be a "3rd fun car", why not something like a 240 (S14)? Or a used NSX, Evos, etc. In my opinion, Those are a lot more fun to build and less expensive to mod. No "new car syndrome" so you can actually drive them the way you'd want to. G coupe or Z are both great cars... I love them, but unless you drop some serious money on top of already higher-than-average price tag, they're just a fun daily driver. Which you already have (the sedan). I can't speak for the new G coupes but if you get the current coupe, eh..... i think it's a waste of money. i'd rather go find a killer deal on a new M3 (not the new models... older gen but stashed in some dealer's inventory with a red tag ) Personally, I'd try to score a nice preowned nsx or a rx-7 (FD) and trade the G sedan in for the newer sedan whenever the wallet gives the green light.

Since it's your "3rd fun car" I'd say go with the Z roadster. Two-seaters are impractical if it's your only vehicle, but that's not the situation here. Why not take it a step further and get the drop top too...
