330 - 293 = 37hp
It isn't really right to take the detuned or "drivetrain-reduced" AT number.

Still a nice number. Just expected a bit more from a .2L and compression bump, plus all the other technology additions. Sounds like there is more on the table there. How difficult it will be to get from the aftermarket is still a yet-unanswered question though.

37 more horsepower at peak + more power throughout the rev range. The 6mt also only has 258 ft-lb of torque at peak, while the new engine is 270. And a flatter curve at that. The sedan is already quicker than the coupe and that is with 306 HP, and 100 less lbs. Adding the 24 more HP and flatter curve will more than make up the 100 lb difference. Final drive ratio is also more aggressive in the new coupe.

What are the 07 coupes running - about 14.1-14.2?

Yes the 55 hp increase for the AT is awesome!! However, the MT gets a 37 hp increase. Either way, that is a prety good increase in hp, I am happy with it!

At concept I was impressed. I was drooling. Now seeing the actually thing. I am quite disappointed. They knew we loved the concept what the heck were they thinking with they girlfied the car. It's tooo soft and looks like a punk. Who cares how much better the engine is if it looks like a punks car. Two thumbs down. I am glad to be in my '06 coupe. Hopefully designing it this lame helps us old gens keep our resale value.

I agree totally.I was gonna sell my g and upgrade to the new stylish beast ,that was the concept. This interior still sucks compared to the lexus and bmer. The concept was futuristic and refined .It was state of the art and cutting edge .Now its just like damn mustang.I guess i need to see it in person. The hood looks just like the m35/45.

Wow so much hate on this forum. As someone who doesn't own a G, I have the opportunity to purchase an 07 or wait for the 08. I'm gladly gonna wait for the next Gen. The 07 is nice, but it is clearly outdated and outclassed by the 08. Looks are subjective, but in terms of performance, refinement, luxury and technology the 08 wins hands down.

photos being 2d are deceptive. Wait till you see it in person before making judgemets ;-) A bit disappointing I must say is the interior. Lexus is so much ahead in this department, even the Acura TL's interior has made great strides, why can't Infiniti put more effort putting more Luxury cues into the interior instead of replicating a Nissan Maxima SL type interior.

I saw pictures of the new G37 for the first time today first on Motor Trend and then Edmonds. I was totally ready to be blown away by the new coupe after seeing the coupe concept but I'm not sure what to think of the G37 based on the pictures. It has almost the exact same profile as the G35 coupe yet it somehow looks more like the current gen G35 sedan than the G35 couple ever did to the 1st gen sedan. It doesn't look bad at all but at the same time it's too similar to the sedan. Also, I hope it can come without the spoiler because I never liked it on the G35 coupe and this version looks even worse to me.
I guess I will judge it once I see it in person, but initial pictures make it look like a 2 door G35 sedan to me. I do like the fact that it's a G "37" instead of a G "35" though.
