Too much speculation...

I know its so hard to wait; I admit it myself.

But guessing isnt going to do anything except help our creativity :)

People who limit their speed to 60 at the track https://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/party/party0001.gif

But seriously, who cares?

I'd rather know 1/4 mile and 40-120.

I would like to see all the specs.

Hypnoz Mar 27, 2007 02:06 AM

It does matter guys. Hate to say it, but it must match/beat the 335i and if it only comes with 330hp and the extra weight it will not do it.

They better bump the hp to 350 if they can.

But as it stands i'm betting on a 5.0 0-60 and 13.5 1/4 @ 104

IP05G35 Mar 27, 2007 02:35 AM

I'm guessing 5.0 with the 5A and 4.9 with the 6M.

Raheel Mar 27, 2007 02:59 AM

You guys are way too optimistic, but 5.2 for Auto, and 5.0 for Manual

stookie Mar 27, 2007 03:11 AM

uh.. 5.2 6mt

CrazyRuskie Mar 27, 2007 03:12 AM

I'm pretty optimistic that people will be able to run 4.8-4.9s 0-60

wyatthanson Mar 27, 2007 04:17 AM

Too optimistic. Low 5s, but surely not 4s.

Please don't be sucked in by HP marketing. HP is great on the race track but on the street only two factors are critical: TORQUE AND CURB WEIGHT. For the G37 the torque is 270 lb/ft and the curb weight is almost 3700 lbs with the sport option. HP is a nice number to throw around when you are trying to impress your girlfriend, but it won't buy you much on the street.

The G37 will absolutely not feel like a quick car with those numbers. It may be possible to get a 5 second 0/60 and upper 13s in the 1/4, but the average joe won't come close to those numbers because the average guy won't be willing to literally abuse the hell out of his car with some insane launch RPM to shave off a few tenths of a second.

A far, far more telling number is what the 5-60 MPH number will be and based on the info I have before me, I'm guessing around 5.6 seconds. And that is far from quick, at least in my books.

Bottom line is that the G has "evolved" into much more of a refined GT car with all the amenities, and has deemphasized its sports heritage. Nothing wrong with this approach as long as you know it before your purchase. Unfortunately, Infiniti will definately suck in a lot of buyers who will be making their purchase because of the G's impressive HP number which you better believe Infiniti will be pushing hard.

dukmahsik Mar 27, 2007 09:19 AM

5.1 sec 0-60 mph

besides, who cares about 0-60? qtr mi is where it's at.

Spoonie Mar 27, 2007 09:37 AM

Since when did the G37 become a 1/4 mile car? Both the G35 and the 335 are slow when it comes to the 1/4 mile. Who cares? Are you guys gonna be racing 335's on the street? If so, the driver will be the differentiator, not the car.
