Where do they go?

On the 07 Sedan, the back-up camera is on the trunk in the middle of the chrome lip. For the 08 coupe, if you get the Sport with the lip spoiler, it covers up the whole chrome strip, where would the back-up camera be placed or is it already placed elsewhere?

i've noticed that the chrome strip on the nav version doesn't have the cam in the middle of it. not sure where it's located.

While I have not seen the G37 backup camera location, I'd bet that it is located around the license plate area. Lexus does it like that.

I think that's probably the trunk release, like they had in previous gen. G35s.

It's hard to tell from the glare in that picture, but I think the trunk release is on the chrome lip spoiler like the 07 Sedan. I thought I remembered seeing other pictures with the trunk release there. I could be wrong though as I am merely guessing here.

EDIT: Yeah, I think you are right about that being the trunk release. I have no idea now where they are sticking the backup camera with the spoiler.

I think the rear spoiler will unfortunately sit on top of the whole trunk flat like the current spoiler on the coupe but will not cover the whole chrome strip... but I could b wrong

I believe its the same spot as the sedan.
Looking at an order guide my dealer provided me, there are two different part #'s for the spoilers - though interesting enough it is described as "with navi package" and "without nav package". .

License plate seems so low, and the light would be weird due to being off center.
HMMM...

I hope that is true. The NAV option now comes with the back up camera from what I have read. If the spoiler option has 2 part numbers it may mean that it has the camera in it IF you order NAV and not have it in the non-NAV optioned cars. I like that better than just slapping another spoiler on top of the chrome spoiler.

After considering this with a few seconds of thought this time.... The camera will be in the wing, regardless if chrome or optional spoiler (in light that there are two part numbers for the optional spoiler). The camera in the spoiler will do one thing, not allow for easy aftermarket spoilers since the nav equiped spoiler will have to contain the camera.

Good point. Looks like the chrome just HAS to stay. However, aftermarket options on the 07 sedan seem to fit "over" the chrome and hide it.
They even have a cutout so as not to block the camera.

our dealership still will not throw any fiberglass aftermraket spoiler on a sedan -- i see them pit so much it's not worth the trouble.
