Chrome Spoiler

Does the chrome spoiler really look that bad? I for one don't think the chrome spoiler looks bad at all, but obviously there is a lot of negativity towards it. What about the spoiler makes it so terrible? (Just a future G37 driver wanting to understand) Thanks.

Im fine with it. I think it all depends on what color you have it with.

myself and bostonmerlin are with you in the minority. i liked the chrome spoiler when i saw it on the Coupe Concept, and the new Sedan. i know i'll like it on the new coupe as well.

MHO right now is that I would not own a g37 with that fugly thing showing. Maybe once I see the G37 in person my opinion will change, but i doubt it.

I didn't really care for the trim piece on the G35 sedan in pictures. When I saw it at the unveiling last novemeber, I thought it complemented the rest of the car well. I'm not sure, I'll have to wait and see.

Chrome at the NY AUTO SHOW

At the NY Auto show the G37 had the chrome spoiler. Right there and then I decided on 1. painting it, 2. getting the body color spoiler, or 3. wait to see what happens with the aftermarket. It might be okay with the base/journey, but it is a no go with the sport.

I think the chrome looks rather classy, while the larger painted comes off as more sporty. Either way, looks good to me.

Hmmm.... according to a salesman from Riverside Infiniti (in Riverside, CA)... the optional rear spoiler is going to be stacked on with the chrome spoiler. I asked him if there were any pictures of it from the internet that I could see. According to him, the rear spoiler that people saw from the pictures of the first test drive is not the spoiler from the package. He says that the chrome spoiler is on the car no matter what. He said that my car will be getting the optional rear spoiler but I'm a little worried that will look with the chrome one right under it.... Hmmm... maybe he could be wrong, but he sounded pretty confident in what he was telling me.

Seeing it in person solidified my opinion. I didnt mind the accent when i saw the first pics.. but when i saw the car live and in person at the NYIAS it looked perfect.. in fact.. i realized those who designed the car.. those same designers who spent months looking at the car over and over knew just what they were doing. It looks great... and it looks classy. The optional spoiler looks like it was tacked on by my next door neighbors kid. Funny how things work.. i thought my 2003 g coupe would have looked terrible w/out the spoiler.

FOR GODS SAKE DONT PAINT THE CHROME.. get a different car if you hate it that much.. get a honda or a kia!

seriously... it's your ride.. whatever blows your hair back.

Thats how it is on the sedan... so there may be some truth to it.
However it may be, neither the lip from the test mules or the sedan does it for me -- its chrome for me until I see something that I like.

The chrome is the absolute worst part about the redesign. Classy chrome is an oxymoron. It looks cheesy, cheap, and simply rediculous. I've seen a G37 on the road here in AZ. It looks like crap.

Why would you suggest people buy a different car because they despise one simple part of a car?

The biggest reason I dislike it so much is because the first gen's trunk flows so perfectly, this chrome lip destroys it.

I don't mind the chrome spoiler at all now. When I first saw pictures of it on the Sedan I wasn't all that impressed with how it looks. Once I saw it in person, I really like it on my Sedan now.
