its a combination of both I think. Since it was asians that first started hopping up cars on import (asian) cars and the fact that asians love rice it became a slang to call a modded import car (with big fat wings and body kits that only add drag at low speeds! lol) RICE and the person a RICER!

 

Yo come on lets c the ip with the painted heads lights.. i think it would look insane and also throw a black backround.

You need to look more closely (post #22 of this thread). No black background, but it has the painted headlights.

 

Rampant, nice photochops. Actually, those chops with the trapedizodial-like grille (ala audi, etc.) looks pretty good when incorporated into the front bumper.

 

It's just an endearing term used to define lack of taste. Sorta like redneck yard art. Just cause a person can install coffee can sized exhaust tips, fake blow off valves, butchered fender flares, el cheapo wheels, a body kit just for the sake of having a kit or a whale tail spoiler doesn't mean it should be done or that it actually looks good. In other words someone infected w/ the 'rice' disease usually ends up making their car look cheap as in delusions of grandeur.
