Quote: Ok then what about the new 2007 G35 Sedan? It is basically the same car/engine except the Coupe is a 3.7 Liter. I saw someone here in a BONE STOCK 2007 G35 Sedan pull a 13.7. So you are telling me the coupe is SLOWER than the Sedan?
The ET is not the issue here, that's a function of traction. The trap speed is the biggest indicator.

I don't know if the coupe is slower than the sedan, but it's possible. At the same track where this coupe has trapped 100.9, my wife's 07 6MT sedan trapped high 98mph on her first ever run. I'm sure she's capable of trapping high 100's or low 101's, which would be on par for this coupe.

I've seen other 07 sedans trap in the 101/102 region, and even an alleged trap of 103, bot those were at different tracks and not directly comparable. But if I had to take a guess, and that this coupe is representative of the g37 in general, then the sedan looks to be marginally faster than the coupe.

Well...the coupe has an extra body in the trunk. Weight is a b*tch.

Edit: Anyone else feeling like we're all

Oh my....Infiniti finally gets the top spot.... what is the world coming to?

Next up the GTR in the supercar US market.....

Nissan is finally beyond the beachead with G35....and progressing to
an impressive landing with the G37. I suspect this is only just the beginning
in the attitude change of Asian GT and sportscars with the Auto industry that has been dominated by the Europeans and the US for years.

Wait till they get a car in the 12 sec quarter mile and in the 4s....and 3s.

This can only be great for car buyers in general!

(prediction)

G37 nothing crazy for 2008 model year... 2009 convert,hp/tq power boost,different transmission(s)

now the GTR will do something similar to the Lotus cars when they were released. (while not super light) the gtr will have massive cornering, massive grip & great performance out of the box... with tuning... my god.

bloodhound.. the power output of the engine has no corrolation to the weight of the car... if it puts out 350 on a Z it'll put out 350 on the G... only difference is 0-60-100-etc due to additional weight.

ppp

EDIT: I know the 2007 sedan guys are/were kinda rubbed when the G came out next year with a 3.7. who knows where's the 3.7 is going for the sedan... I'm sure the 2008 G coupe guys will be highly pissed if the new Z comes out with directport injection (that could explain the 20 extra horses). I truely hope this isnt the case.

I definitely wasnt saying that, simply put I was saying it probably has the same g engine, even power, even though it is listed more, but it weighs less so that will benefit it more down the road. Sorry if you or others miscontrued it from what I wrote.

yah when i read the article that's all i was thinking off. these guys have been paid!!

one thing tho. why does Infiniti keep embarrassing themselves by providing older models of 335 that do not include the oil cooler? all post-march 07 335i's have the cooler standard!

I wish I could work for MT and test drive some of these cars. Then, maybe then I could be blamed for putting the G37 on top. Until then, I'll go back to my boring day job.

All joking aside. Really, neither car is on top. If it weren't for the lack of an oil cooler, LSD, and the price difference (this, of course, has been said before), MT would have put the 3 on top. There's no questioning that. Once BMW decides to address some of these issues, then you'll see a different ending. Someone has to lose. Of all the comparisons I've ever read, I've only seen one tie. I can't even remember which mag wrote it and which cars were tested.

BMW guys have nothing to be ashamed of and the Infiniti guys finally get their moment in the sun. Also, this is only one comparison. I'm sure C&D will put the 3 on top judging by their initial review of the G. Let's just say it wasn't terribly flattering.

In the previous battle with the 3-series vs. G35... does anyone remember why the 3-series won even though the G35 won in all performance categories?

but BMW has ALREADY taken care of these issues early this year. i dont know why Infiniti keeps on giving 335's withOUT the oil cooler altho all 335's that are made in march and after have the cooler standard!
it makes infiniti less credible

Yeah, due to lack of refinement. 2007 G Sedan vs. 328i
