Nothing against Nissan Sport, but prolly within milliseconds after subscribers to the 'mainstream' mags opened their copies, they were scanning them in and posting them online. How is Nissan Sport any different from Road and Track or Car and Driver? Why is everyone so afraid to post excerpts from this mag? These articles sound informative but unfortunately I am stationed overseas and this particular mag isn't in the exchange system. All subscribers should have their copies by now and it's a safe bet it's on whatever newstands carry it. How bout hooking up the rest of us?

it's still copywrite infringement and illegal. all kinds of holes can be punched through your logic, but i happen to agree... this all said, i'd still prefer if someone up'd the article, as i'm not close to a store that actually carries the mag.

 

This forum may be attempting to support an upstart magazine, but the subscriber base of R&T or C&D has nothing to do with it. R&T and C&D will be posting the article on their web sites (altho not at the same time), so even non-subscribers can eventually get it for free. Also, you can probably get a copy at your local library and copy the pages for your own use.

This is nothing more than an accomodation to the publisher of Nissan Sport by this web site.

 

Since the magazines will be publishing the articles on their web sites, if it is, technically, copyright infringement, it might only be "premature" copyright infringement.

The difference is that Nissan Sport does not give any indication it will ever publish this article on-line. I, for one, would be more inclined to subscibe to the magazine if I had some idea of the content and where the writers and editor were coming from. Without seeing anything first hand, I will probably assume this magazine will only mention the positives, never bring up the negatives and only give its readers a sugarcoated view of the cars. Since the publisher won't make it easy for me to be proven wrong, I will probably never subscribe to the magazine because I don't want the tunnel vision perspective of a captive audience magazine. It's a pity they will lose opportunities to pick up subscribers by making it so difficult for people to see what they have to offer.

 

I fully agree with "dmkozak's" post! Give us some excerpts, please. THEN I might subscribe. No excerpts or hints = to

New views and evaluations of "our" car can be most welcome among enthusiasts.

 

Don't be so sure. Some day when all the new Infiniti's are built in China with possibly sub-standard results, we may refer to our current G's as VINTAGE
.

 

That is if Infiniti resorts to producing cars from China... someday. By the time that happens, China will already be making pretty good cars... sort of like how Hyundai has been lately as compared with their first beginnings. Or in other words, many many many years from now possibly.

I wonder how many people will still have the first-gen G lets say... 20 years from now. I hope by that time I've moved on to the Infiniti Q60 or Q30... depending on how the car market goes in America. We most likely will go on the path like Europe... smaller engines and more fuel efficient.

This should give the skeptics some idea of the style and depth of the writing in Nissan Sport. As far as publishing the summer '07 article on-line, it would be patently unfair to our current subscribers to do so. We hope those of you who like what you see and read will consider a subscription.

Actually, David, I am sorry to tell you that excerpt, which has been available on-line for quite some time, tells me very little. The vast majority of that article is the technical improvements previously released in the Infiniti press releases. What little editorial content exists on that page are a few personal comments about the styling and one comment how the Nissan Sport test will be the most complete analysis. Maybe that works for others, but, personally, I need to know the information and viewpoints in Nissan Sport are information and viewpoints I can not find anywhere else. Otherwise, why would I need Nissan Sport?

 

Sorry that article didn't tell you what you wanted to know. Our current four page spread on the G37 Coupe will remain exclusive to Nissan Sport and to our subscribers. I can tell you that the "information and viewpoints" contained in the article are from a variety of sources, including current G35 owners (the lead being Eagle1 and another offering a woman's perspective), a 350Z owner and a journalist who is an outsider (doesn't own any Infiniti or Nisan products). All are enthusiasts and spent over 1,100 miles driving the G37 to provide their perspectives. I can assure you this is a combination not found in any other publication.

I'm not on this thread to debate the wisdom of offering the article on-line. Nissan Sport was founded for Infiniti/Datsun/Nissan enthusiasts by enthusiasts who share the same passion. We offer more coverage of not only the G37, but also a wide range of Infiniti/Datsun/Nissan vehicles, many owned by enthusiats like yourself. There is also editorial content, one of which does not sugarcoat the potential downsides of the technology being offered in the new VQ37VHR engine. Nissan Sport has a lot to offer, but it may not be enough to suit your tastes.
