What would you say about this choice? anything wrong with first year at g37s?
no, coming from a G35 you would prob be happy with the g37...most of the issues with the G35 line have been resolved with the G37's & some nice improvements have been made on them. You're going to lose some leg room and (it seems like) a little headroom from the G35, in case that's an issue. Have you driven one yet?

A comp equipped BMW is prob going to cost more, as the base pricing is higher.

you have one and get high 20's driving it around? I'm talking about actual real-world gas mileage, not a made up number on a dealership window sticker.

Just cause a website says something doesn't mean it's true. I'm talking about the "real-world" specs.

BTW the sedan is actually lighter and has a better drag coefficient then the coupe. Care to explain how they shaved another .10 of a second off? Oh right nevermind, I forgot on internet fantasy land that coupes are always faster.

Here is a few realistic G 0-60 times.

0-60=5.5-second

0-60 5.2 seconds by motortrend

http://www.insideline.com/hyundai/ge...g37-coupe.html

0-60 TC on=6.3/TC off=5.7

On gas, people routinely get high20s in their vettes highway. If you go around down racing from light to light, of course you wont get near that. If you wanna talk real world mpg I only get like 18-19 in my G.

realistic G 0-60 times.
-mototrend link is estimated hence the EST next to 5.2...not an actual test they did
-topspeed link is citing from a 3rd party press release and shows a 5.2 0-60 with 1 ft dragstip roll....not an actual test they did
-and the edmunds article, wow, seriously? a ridiculously skewed comparasion between a HYUNDAI and a G37 obviously designed to prove how the hyundai is just a good as an overpiced piece of junk infiniti G37...did you read that article?

Care to explain how they shaved another .10 of a second off?
no, i didn't design the car, test the speed, or publish the statistics.

My point is not to debate if a G37 can do 0-60 in 4.9 or 5.0 or 5.2 seconds on any given day at some random test altitude, with a full or 1/8 tank of gas, at some random temperature, with some random driver, with certain tires, etc. or to debate published speed times from an asortment of sources.
It's just to say that 23 mpg 1/2 city, 1/2 hwy is good for a fast car.

My buddy gets low 20s in his ZR1. When he had his z06 he was getting 23-25 mixed driving. His automatic 2009 Vette gets low 20s to high 20s depending on how much freeway driving he does. That number is not made up, it's not something the manufacturer comes up with, it's done by the EPA. The reason why Vettes get better gas mileage than the Gs is due to a tall over drive gear, weight, and aero dynamics.

^+1 and the vette automatically shifts from 1st to 4th in low rpm shifting.

I'm sure their drivers can get a much better 0-60 time then you will ever be able to in the "real world" anyways.

I just found it funny that you posted a faster coupe time, when if anything the sedan is capable of a slightly lower time.

And I am trying to say that your assertion is wrong, and there are faster cars that get better MPG. I don't know how the hell you are averaging 23mpg. I'm lucky to hit 20.

here is a few more besides the vette
2011 mustang gt - 5.0L V8 412HP, mpg-17 / 26
2011 Camaro SS- 6.2 v8 426hp, mpg 16 / 25
Lotus Exige- (small engine, but goes 0-60 in 4.1) mpg 24 / 29
Porsche 911 Carrera S- 3.8 flat6 385hp, mpg 18 / 25

My point is, you don't buy a G to pinch pennies at the gas pump.

not even in the same category bro...a 335 is in the same category as the g37

if it was 335 vs g37...i would take the 335

if it was 328 vs g37...i would probably take the g37

I have driven both a g35 and a 328i. I got the 328 as a rental car from BMW. A lot more power in the g37 obviously, parts are cheaper, and it's just a better looking car overall.

German cars will make you pay out of the *** when something breaks and not much power at all. The 328 is a lot smaller than the g37. If I had more time, I'd write a better review but overall...

GET THE G37... you won't be disappointed.

Or an Audi a4 or a6?

The 328 will get better gas mileage, but that's about the only reason I would want the 328 over the G37.

328 is not in league, M3 or a 335 if u don't care about the maintenance, but if u want similar performance at lesser maintenance g37 FTW!

IDk I sometimes wish I would have gotten a M3, love the way they look and their performance. But then I realize how much I would hate myself for the maintenance costs..

Ok, so I have had a lotttt of experience driving both of those cars. My mother just got rid of her 08 328i AT and i probably put about 5k on it myself. A close friend of mine also has an 08 G37 5AT and we switch cars sometimes because he loves the sound of my exhaust.

Handling wise, the G37 is certainly great but the bmw blows it out of the water. The 328 has better brakes, better steering feel, and that German "vault" feeling of solidity. The seats are of higher quality and the trunk is much much bigger than the G37's if you are looking for utility. That being said, it is slower in a straight line but silky smooth and the power delivery is very linear.

The G37 will blow the 328i's doors off in a straight line and in the looks department as well. Fuel economy is just slightly worse than the 328 despite having a lot more power. The G feels lighter but that doesn't necessarily make it better. Its solid..more solid than our V35's but not like a BMW.

IMO, the BMW is a better car but a more BORING car (unless you get the 335) and the G37 will more than satisfy you especially if you've had a G35 for a few years. I say go with the G37 if you are more into having fun or go with the BMW if you are more into sensibilty.

Just my 2cents, hope it helps
