Question Potential g37 buyer

Hey guys,

I've admired the g35's and now g37's for years. I've been a long time Honda driver, the past 2 of which have been the 93 Honda Prelude H22A1 VTEC and then my 08 Civic SI that I bought brand new. I am ready to trade and in a great position with my SI and have about 3k in equity in the car at 70k miles.

My main concern, aside from gas mileage, is resale value. How does the g37 compare to Honda's? My GF and I are going to be married in the next year or 2 so she wants me to get a 4 door (but I can't get over how much more I love the g37 coupe vs the sedan), so I'm going with a coupe to start. I'll trade it when I HAVE to after the baby comes along. I'm willing to deal with a baby in the back of the coupe for as long as possible though! The coupe in particular I'm looking at is an 09 G37 Journey with 20k miles and the dealer is ASKING 28k for it. I think I can get them to 27, then have 3k in equity + cash and finance no more than 24k. How do you guys think I will fare after 2-3 years and 24-40k miles on it bringing it to an estimated 44-64k miles? I drive about 1k miles a month for work (IT Consultant).

Other than than that... I love everything about the car. Even the automatic tranny, which I thought I would hate. However, finding a MT coupe in my area for my price range is impossible. I'm in New Orleans, btw.

Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance!

As a point of reference, a used 2003 G35 sedan goes for around 13000 here in Canada.

Good luck trying to fight off the mod bug

This is G35driver haha wrong forum maybeee? I'd rather have a G37 sedan. Not especially fond of the redesign from the G35s to the G37s though.

Ontario prices are very high then. Alberta an 03 Sedan averages for under 10000.
I was a Honda guy, 02 TL, RSX-S, 06 TL, then I bought the G and have never looked back.
Its ridiculously easy to work on, maintenance costs equivalent to a v6 honda (DIY).

You will not be disappointed with any G.
