Question What do you like most about the new '13 G37 Sedan vs. the '09?

I'm seriously considering trading in my '09 G37 for a '13.

I see a number of things I like better about the '13.

1. The stiffer body of the '11+ vs. the '10 and earlier.
2. The ability to cut off the voice commands by pushing the talk switch an extra time.
3. The ability to access my iPhone phonebook via voice commands.
4. The upgraded nav screen
5. USB input vs. compact flash

What I'll miss on the '09
1. The Music Box

Did I miss anything?

The sonar sensors on the rear are OK, but I don't think I'll use them much.

The 11+ doesnt have a stiffer body... it is the exact same it just as a different exteriors and a slightly tweaked interior. The power trains and chassis are the exact same.

The G37S will have a stiffer setup cus of the beefed up suspension idk if the chassis it self is stiffer. BTW the 2012 has the music box did they remove it for the 2013 model?

Early production 2012s still had the music box, but in a mid-year change it was deleted to give more memory to navigation.

I'll miss all those CDs I burned to my '09s music box.

2011 still has music box.... i think they stoped on the 2012 model. i use my music box on every road trip in my 11. Also it wasnt the memory for the navigation that was the problem. They apparently had a contract negotiation problem with musicbox and couldnt come to an agreement. I am sure it will be back later. Honestly the memory should be a high def sd card with 64 gigs of space. If it can transmit 1080i video then it should be able to handle music and nav all at once.

The S setup

My S is so much tighter with the suspension than the base models its not even the same car. I wasnt going to buy one after i drove a base journey because i felt like i was in a boat until i got in the s and wow. made my g35 seem sloppy.

The lack of Music Box on the 2013 would make the decision easy for me... stick with your '09. Not enough immprovements to make it worthwhile, unless you REALLY like the facelift that much and don't want to make the body changes to you '09.

Nice! Did you get a good deal on the lease since the new Q50 will be available in a month or so?

I went from an '07 G35 S to my '13, and like the difference in the ride, and comfort of the car. This is my 4th G, and the best right out the door! I did get a great deal, and I am happy with my choice. I wanted to buy a new one before the G went away, so...I don't get the name change, since the G has been the bread and butter car for Infiniti.

I've also just went from an '07 G35x to a '13. With the build date of 10/13, I feel like I've hit the jackpot.
Loving the refined 7AT (they finally got it right as of '12), the USB flash drive capability (don't miss the CD changer OR the music box!) Also loving the BT audio....Pandora works great!

Digging the new car, except the finish on the driver's side window panel is already coming off

The finish on those trim pieces is notorious for coming off... I guess some things never change. Glad to hear you are enjoying the new car otherwise. Thinking of doing the same thing... updating from my 2008 to a newer 2013.

Honestly it seems like a big waste of money, time, effort etc. just to get a facelift. Unless you need a car with less miles or something, it doesn't seem worth it at all. If I were you I would either spring for a q50 or hold off.

I'm a big fan of the newer year's (2011+) rear timing chain cover gallery gaskets being metal and not just paper, but I'm biased since my gaskets blew
