I got a 2012 Infiniti g37 sedan journey. I bought the Tesla style 12.1 inch screen. Worked fine until I switched the 2 plugs tht look the same but have diff wires. Screen would not turn on after. I put the original stuff back In. And it wont work. Any1 know y? Fuses look good but I only checked a few tht I thought would b the problem. Check ALL the fuses, sounds like you blew one.

I didn't check all fuses but I did check the ones I thought it would be and they looked good. There is no fuse that says deck or CD player or TV. I lost my user manual so I don't no what fuse it would be. I was hoping someone would know.

Section AV - Audio Visual Nav.

Fuses 3, 19 in Fuse Block - J/B (cabin fuse block). Layout for FB-J/B is located at the back of section PG - Power and Grounding.

Fuse 34 on the fusible link, it's the positive battery terminal and carries a bunch of fuses as well. Layout is also located in the back of PG.

 

I replaced 34 which is audio fuse. That wasn't it. Where is the junction box thing located in the car? Do u no?

 

The ac still worked on the 12.1 Tesla screen but it does not work with original deck. No a/c. CD player wont take a CD. TV don't come on. Clock don't work. The only thing that works is the air bag light comes on. I no there's 2 diff powers so that is y the light comes on that. It has been like this for 2 weeks now. I'm getting annoyed, I can't find out the problem. Everything iv checked looks fine. Wish I never switched those 2 plugs.

 

I think you should pull it apart and throw a DMM on the harness to check for proper voltage and ground.

 

Digital multi meter? I have 1 but don't no how to use it lol. But, wouldn't I have 2 have expose wire 2 touch. Would rather not cut wires. And I would think tht would b pointless. I no 4 a fact what wire plug is the power and it has no power going through it.

 

I guess I could run another power wire and wire it into the plug but i want 2 fig out y it's not getting power. The most obvious explanation would b a fuse but I no the audio fuse 34 beside the battery is good. But it does say audio and it's more than just audio tht is out. I feel dumb knowing it's probly a simple fix like a fuse and can't fig it out.

 

Thank u, every1 tht is trying to help. I think I'm bout 2 give up on it 4 now. Save up sum money and take it to Infiniti dealership. Hopefully they wont lie and make me pay $1000s I just don't no what else 2 check. The wires r not loose. The fuses iv checkd r good. I switch them with others thts the same and they work. I still think it's a fuse but... Idk 1day it will b done. I have everything sitting at my house 4 it. Just waiting. Time is a bitch lol . Got performance parts. A system. A wide body kit. Full body car decal. I do have the rims on. I have around $28,000 of stuff so far. Its takin me sooo long. I put everything on hold until I get power going 2 my Tesla screen again.

 

No you don't cut the wires, there is a harness on the back of the stereo.

You should also check with a local reputable stereo shop, less cost and they specialize in that sort of thing.

 

On the back of fuse box j/b by ur left foot, there r 4 big fuses with blue tops. Does any1 know what they r for. The blue plastic covers them so u cant c if they r bad or not. They each have 3 prongs. U have to take out or un clip the fuse box to get 2 them.

 

R they just fuses 4 fuses, how can u test them? Can I switch 2 fuses ? Tht fuse in middle of junction box, the fuse tht is behind tht plastic thing tht comes out with the fuse, well, I unplugged tht fuse and turned car on and nothing at all was diff. But the fuse was good. If there's a fuse 4 tht fuse then maybe tht other fuse, the big blue fuse, is bad.
