Founder's Plaza DFW Airport
A co-worker told me about this place.
Didn't really do much editing. These two were in manual mode on my D60 with a Nikkor AF-S 200mm 1:4-5.6G ED VR lens.
I probably could make these look a little better with some editing but CS4 is a little confusing to me...as was CS3 lol.
Tony, Yash, anyone with skills, critique away!

First shot:
Composition:
I like the subject you chose, but personally, I think you'd have gotten a lot more fulfillment w/ ONE of the statues rather than all 3.. Based on your placement, I'd have selected the furthest one on the left. There's less background to interrupt your subject and he's got by far the most interesting pose. Get a little closer and MAKE me look at what you want me to see. Photography is a controlling art, you are making the viewer feel and see what you saw through the lens.. With this shot, I have so much to look at I don't really know what you were trying to capture or where you wanted me to look..
Technical:
You shot very well, the subject is sharp and the background is nicely blurred.. However, I feel for my personal taste, it's a tad overexposed, which as you said, could be fixed w/ photoshop. No biggie there. I think proper exposure would bring out the detail in the statue's faces. I like the color saturation in the rocks, mulch and bush (ha I said bush).. Nice complimentary colors there. As you look at the image from the bottom up, it starts to flatten out to me though due to the lack of color in the middle of the shot, sucks there was no clouds that day, that'd have really helped. Did you shoot mid day? An early morning shoot of this same shot would produce far more interesting shadows and contrasts.
Second Shot:
Composition
I really like how you got the plane off center but not too heavy on any one side of the shot. It's just hanging right there to where it almost looks like a toy.. Nice..
Technical
Being the only thing in the middle of that beautiful sky, you can't help but to be drawn into the bold colors. Wondering how the middle of the shot is brighter than the edges, wonder if that's just my brain playing tricks on me cuz the plane is white. PERFECT exposure, everything POPS!! Everything is SHARP!! This honestly is one of the sharpest shots I've ever seen taken w/ a Nikon.. Congrats.. Very nice.

Thanks guys. I wasn't too sure about the first one but I really liked the second one.
With the second one, I followed it until everything looked good to me in the viewfinder.
I think all of our eyes are playing tricks on us when it comes to the outer edges of the photo being darker.
Its actually the wallpaper on my comp at work now
