This is my first DSLR, so I can't really compare it to others. I got it because from what I read it is one of the top picks for its price range. I've had it for about 4 months now and I hasn't let me down yet, in photos or video. From my experience, it's the sheeet

Experienced or not, the T2i is leagues above what I started w/.. The Canon Rebel 300D or "Digital Rebel".. That's was canon's first "budget" digital SLR, which started the lower cost line...

I kept that camera at LEAST 2 yrs before I upgraded to the then brand new 20D.

Even in the 2 yrs I had the camera, I never unlocked it's full potential and I was growing by leaps and bounds with it...

I say that to say, the T2i will definitely provide you what you need in terms of features, and options to expand your creativity.. Pros still shoot w/ film (when compared to digital is less technologically advanced) because it invokes more creativity and thought in your process and to get the end result you want.. (Sold the 20D to G35man04, and he's achieved some AWESOME results with it... Haven't seen any pics recently CBlack, what's up w/ that?)

I'm considering getting a lower end camera body specifically for my rig shots.. Dangling my 7D from the end of a 10' pole while a car is moving isn't necessarily the most calm moment for me during a shoot.. The lens alone is over 600 bucks let alone the camera body.. You wanna see a black man on edge..

I guarantee you this (with ANY camera body) you'll get more out of it if you increase YOUR knowledge.. That's transferrable to any body you have in your hands and it's cross platform (canon, nikon, sony, etc).. Practicing and increasing your general photographic knowledge is the best for increasing the quality of your pics. The technology in the camera can only get you so far..

However, quality of lenses on the other hand can be the difference between a magazine quality shot and a nice picture.. Lens quality is invaluable. Before you consider upgrading your body, upgrade your lenses first..

Understanding lighting and the manipulation of it as well is another level of photography that you might want to entertain before looking at a new body as well..

Needless to say, there will be a LOT to keep you involved w/ your new camera.. Congrats on your purchase, and can't wait to see some photos.

Ya know, with this in mind, I've offered to Hal & Dave to use the bed of my truck as a good place to use as a base while trying to do rolling shots. Might keep your edge a little less painful.

Thanks for the offer Big C... That would provide some really kewl front on angles.. I might take you up on that..

But I'm talking about RIG shots.. Actually connecting a 10' pole via suction cups to the hood or trunk of the car to get extreme closeup shots of the car while it's rolling..
