What do you guys think of the Lexus gs450H? Really thinking of getting one for the wife... Seems like the best of three worlds! Only problem is I live in Colorado and Texas seems the closes to having one in stock used that is! I was also thinking of a 335xi four door. Which would you choose?

 

GS is sorta a 5 series size. Plus the hybrid takes up some trunk space. Depends on what your priorities are. Lots of rush hour driving? Hybrid makes sense.

 

Well I know the 335xi is in a different class but I'm just really looking for a good four door that has a bit of pick up... The Gs450h as 339hp and has way better mpgs...

 

Why not a BMW 335iD? Clean diesel, great mileage. Higher low-end torque. Cheaper price tag. The GS450h really isn't a hybrid. At most you'll go 3-5 miles more per gallon. It's more of a performance upgrade than fuel sipping sports sedan. Compared to the GS460 17/24/20 and the GS450h 22/25/23 mpg. Not much difference. But it is a peppy luxury sport sedan.

 

I know a few people who have them. Great cars, solid build, reliable. Expect 25mpg overall. That said, it is a heavy car around 4200lbs, and the trunk is a joke (no fitting a golf bag in here). The BMW may be closer to what you need with the AWD, but regardless go to a local dealer and take a look at both (even though your going used). The GS hasn't really changed since it's redesign back in 2006
