My G won't take full tank of gas

I was on my way home from work today. then I noticed I don't have much gas left, I'd say 3 gal. the most. as the usual, I stopped at this pump and it started filling up until 9 gal. and it stopped but I was so sure that it's not full yet so I tried to give it more but the stupid pump won't do it so I thought it was the gas pump that is acting stupid. so I had to move to the other pump (I took a good 5 second look at the fuel gauage and it was only 3/4 full) and this pump is doing the same thing!!! :icon43: then I realized it's my car not the pump!!! ok.. I used to fill up with Chevon gas for the last 5-10 times but then today I saw 76 is about 10 cents cheaper so I thought I could use it. However, I don't think the G is only taking one kind of gas right?!?!?! :confused2: or it's the gas sensor? :dunno:

I've been having similar issues with the gas. Most of the time I can only fill up to one notch below full tank. Spoke to the service department, was told there's no known solution for this problem. Going to ask them to do a thorough check on my next service appointment.

I had the same problem. I had the fuel shutter valve replaced and my entire gas tank.

The problem sounds like the same problem they had on earlier models. My 05 sedan did the exact same thing and there is a TSB to replace the shutter valve in the tank. The dealer did this fix and it cured the problem.

Since I'm such a nice guy, I'll let you give the remaining portion of the gas to me.... seing as my G is more than willing to take a full tank of gas... and use it all up in like 2 days. ;)

yes i have the same problem. There is a TSB for the shutter valve. But the service rep also told me that it might not be the shutter valve. He says that the fuel line to the tank is undersized because of some emissions regulation. I dont quite believe him though. He says if the pump at the gas station is over like 8 gallons per minute or something like that then the fuel backs up and will cause the pump to stop because of high pressure. Do you guys buy that? The two dealerships i've dealt with were very nice but none seem to jump on the gun to tell me to bring the car in to change the valve. I wonder if they get paid for it from infiniti?

I had this same issue, I took it to my dealership and it turns out it was an issue they heard often. Like mentioned above I also had the fuel shutter valve replaced and my entire gas tank.

dealership replaced my "fuel sending unit" and replaced the fuel tube leading to tank "recal" on my 03 when I had the same problem filling up. Infinity has an excuse or know all answer for most stuff they know nothing about.
Example: I walk in and ask for the mount fuji logo for the rear of my g35 coupe. guy looked at my like i was on crack.

Thanks for all the replies. seems like I am not the only one who is having this problem. I guess the only way to solve it is bring it to the dealer. I'll try one more time before I schedule an appointment. Are they gonna cost you an arm and leg or it's suppose under warranty??
