Exclamation AirBag light on and flashing...

Hey all...

I recently purchased an '06 G35 Coupe 6MT in Ivory Pearl. It was involved in an accident and the steering wheel/drive side seat bag went off. They were both replaced with new ones and I was assuming there wouldn't be much else to it as far as the AirBag system goes.

The problem I'm having now is that there are NO CODES in the system, but the airbag light is still on. I've taken it to a dealership and they told me that they want me to replace the whole engine wiring harness ($1200 parts, $1500+ labour) which in my opinion seems a little farfetched.

I've tried the AirBag reset procedure to no avail. Anyone got any ideas?

Before everyone goes on about lecturing me on buying a salvage, please don't bother. I'm fully aware of the cons of buying salvage vehicles and am not concerned about them. I obviously would like all the AirBags to be working 100%.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Do you guys think that the reason there's no codes is because there's "crash event data" on the AirBag module? I've seen a lot of these AirBag module reset ads on eBay and whatnot.

Maybe I'll swap the module with a friends G35 to see if it goes away?

Let me know how it goes. I have a friend with the same issues on his ride and i never knew what to tell him. Theres nothing wrong with buying a salv car, as long as you know how to do your own work because the dealer wont cover you anymore.... Again, let me know if that module thing worked. Thanks!

I'll definitely post updates as I go along. Just for now I've kind of hit a dead end. I'm downloading the service repair manuals as we speak and I'll let you know if that gets me anywhere.

Awesome, good luck man. I wasnt able to find anything on the service manual. They just tell you to replace the shiock sensors where the hit was and the airbag module... Thats a good $1000+ right there so. If there is a cheaper way let me know.
